Bio

My mission is to assist those looking to restore a healthy psychological balance with focused activation towards personal goals and desired achievements. This work will improve motivation, reduce anxiety and cultivate a happier lifestyle in tune with the belief that nature benefits our mental health. I believe therapy is about discovering useful tools for progression, quietening the mind, finding peace and master techniques to achieve personal goals in an enduring and feasible manner.

After my BSc in Psychology, my post-graduate degree meant I became a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP). I have worked in a private clinic, with NHS patients, tackling mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, phobias and a host of debilitating and de-motivating obstacles. I am also a fully trained counsellor for Childline and certified life coach. I specialise in Ecotherapy, whereby we use activities in nature to promote a positive healing experience and use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to teach life long skills enabling a longer, happier and healthier lifestyle.

Experience

Nearly two decades ago, I embarked on a path that would shape my entire professional and personal outlook. I trained as a masseuse, initially drawn to the practice by my fascination with the human body and the profound ways in which physical touch would promote healing. However, as I delved deeper into the field, I quickly realised that therapy extends far beyond the physical. It encompasses emotional and mental well-being as well. This realisation changed my perspective, allowing me to appreciate the full spectrum of therapeutic approaches that contribute to a person's overall health.

Through my work as a masseuse, I developed a deep appreciation for the power of relaxation, not just in the physical sense of soothing tense muscles but in the holistic experience of providing a safe space where individuals could unwind, take a deep breath and temporarily step away from the burdens of daily life. There is something incredibly rewarding about helping people find solace and witnessing firsthand the transformation that occurs when stress and tension melts away.

Witnessing the mental health issues within my own family made me acutely aware of the importance of the need for compassionate and knowledgeable professionals in the field. These experiences ignited my determination to deepen my understanding of the human mind, leading me to pursue a degree in Psychology. I have always been a firm believer in the healing power of nature, and these personal beliefs inspired my dissertation, which focused on Ecotherapy. My research reaffirmed my intuition that nature has the ability to restore emotional balance and provide therapeutic escape from the pressures of modern life.

One of the most significant turning points in my journey was my time as a counsellor at Childline. This experience was both humbling and heartbreaking, exposing raw, unfiltered realities that so many young people face. This made such an impact, that I continued my learning by going back to University and studying a postgraduate qualification to become a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. This role combined learning with hands on experience in a clinical setting. Working with NHS patients allowed me to put my knowledge into practice by navigating a range of mental health challenges.

I continued by journey by completing a year long life coaching course, believing that this only adds to my understanding and ability to help. I won't stop studying and finding new ways to reach those struggling, as learning should be a life-long commitment.

There has been one constant theme throughout my journey, which is that of holistic care. Whether through massage, ecotherapy, crisis support or using a range of psychological tools, my goal has been to approach mental health with a comprehensive, compassionate and individualised mindset. Healing is not a linear process, nor does it follow one specific path. Instead it is a deeply personal journey that requires a combination of support systems, therapeutic techniques and human connection.

I strive to be a compassionate and empathetic practitioner, always remembering my simple missions is to assist others to heal, grow and find peace in their own unique way
