Bio

Hello, I'm a Certified Professional Executive Coach through the Henley School of Business (University of Reading, UK), and am accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC).

In coaching I help clients identify what you need and what is next - so you can move forward. We can work together to tap into how your mind and body reacts to change and what it can tell you, with approaches influenced by body awareness techniques and somatic training. I will support you to think on your feet with creative improvisation-based techniques - so you can work out your next steps.

Clients have endorsed my abilities to help you unlock, clarify and develop your inner strength and resilience; to move forward in your career; to reflect back your developing ideas and plans; to empower you to develop your identity as a leader; and build your motivation and resilience.

Coaching is an effective way of accessing and exploring answers to questions such as - how can I find a better balance? - how do I lead others through change? - how do I get myself unstuck from this situation? - how can I develop as a manager and leader? - to give just a few examples. As your coach I can help you to find your way towards the answers. By partnering to work together, we create the space to do what you need to do to access these answers. The balance of support and challenge within coaching sessions allows space to unpack your ideas and preconceptions and overcome barriers through a deeper level of enquiry.

I will draw on a range of approaches to help you gain perspective on the issues or ideas that you are bringing to a session. For example, we can work together to tap into how your mind and body reacts to change, upheaval, and repeating patterns (and what these reactions can tell you).

I really look forward to discussing your aims for coaching through an introductory call. I welcome working with clients of all ages, backgrounds and gender identities, and will create a safe supportive coaching space.

Working with Rachel has been transformative. After facing redundancy and interview rejections, her unique approach - blending somatic awareness with gentle challenge and encouragement - helped me navigate a loss of confidence and secure a new job. Rachel was dedicated to understanding and addressing my individual needs. She has a remarkable ability to help unlock, clarify and grow your inner strengths. She empowered me to define my goals, regain my confidence, and take decisive steps forward in my career. Plus, we had fun and shared many laughs along the way! I cannot recommend Rachel highly enough to anyone facing career transitions.

As a creative person I particularly liked how Rachel used visuals and words to play back what she was hearing. This has meant that many of our conversations have stayed with me long after we spoke to shape my leadership

I had never received professional coaching before working with Rachel, and I appreciated the direction she took and how quickly I was put at ease. Instead of applying a ‘once size fits all’ approach, Rachel worked to understand the reasons behind what I was bringing to our sessions. I also found our work on body language very helpful

I would highly recommend coaching with Rachel Tyrrell. In only 6 sessions with Rachel over a period of 3 months, I have transformed as a professional and person. The sessions helped me achieve all of my professional objectives by the end, which is incredible as I expected it to take much longer! A clear example of immediate success is that I have always struggled with interviewing, where I let my nerves get the better of me, and do not feel that I present myself as I am normally. However, after sessions with Rachel, using the techniques we discussed, I not only excelled and was successful at an assessment and interview, but felt comfortable and confident.

Another example is identifying the type of leader I am, my leadership and management style, as well as exploring my confidence levels in contributing to new environments and preparing for meetings. I left the coaching sessions knowing the authentic type of leader I was and what worked for me, with techniques that I could put into immediate practice to support that - giving me confidence, presence, and preparing me for the unexpected. I continued to be open and reflective which helped me to develop and learn outside of the sessions. I have since received repeated outstanding feedback from every level of my organisation, either directly or in meetings

I don't really understand how Rachel does this. She asks me a few questions and prompts, I offer some fuzzy thoughts and ideas and over the course of the session I realise I have made a huge amount of progress, clarifying all my ideas into clear plans. It is some kind of magic!

Rachel helped me set the agenda and let me explore issues fully, while keeping the focus for the session; asked questions that helped me see the downsides of habits and behaviours and how I might incentivise myself to change; elicited strategies for behaviour change
