Bio
Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the life you truly want?
My belief is that you are the expert of your own world- you know what hurts most.
In counselling, it would be about you sharing your world and experiences with me, facing the pain together as we navigate the intricate woods of your life. With the right support, you can rediscover your own way forward, gaining clarity and fulfilment along the way.
Your unique story and individuality matter.
Suffering is an inherent part of being human. I've faced my own share of challenges, and through seeking help, I’ve learned something about strength, resilience, and how to go forward… moving through the woods in spite of how dark it can be at times.
I work with anyone aged 16 and over and am trained in Mental Health First Aid and Self Harm Awareness. I have completed Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), enhancing my ability to support individuals facing suicidality.
I volunteered as a group facilitator for Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SoBS) for several years, offering support to individuals navigating the complex grief of losing of a loved one to suicide.
Fifteen years of experience as a teacher, supporting pupils with their wellbeing, providing pastoral support, and listening to them in times of distress, has enhanced my therapeutic work, equipping me with a deep understanding of the complexities of the human experience.
I’m deeply committed to breaking the stigma that still surrounds mental health and ensuring that everyone has someone to talk to.
I'm passionate about us all, as human beings, reaching our fullest potential in life.

Experience
MA Clinical Counselling (Distinction) - December 2021 Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) - April 2022 Level 2 in Self Harm Awareness for Schools - February 2023 Level 1 Mental Health First Aid - September 2023
My practice focuses on supporting individuals, helping them navigate a wide range of mental health challenges. I provide a compassionate, non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, working collaboratively to create meaningful change. My approach is Person Centred, integrating different therapeutic techniques to tailor my work to the unique needs of each individual. I am committed to empowering my clients, helping them build resilience and reconnect with a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.
Therapy offers a safe, confidential space where you can unmask, speak freely, and be fully accepted for who you are and where you are in your journey. Feelings of shame or the belief that others won’t understand us can often keep us silent, hiding our true emotions.
In the virtual therapy space, you’ll feel genuinely seen, supported, and understood.
To feel met, held and accepted, can be transformational, changing how we feel about ourselves and how we are with others in the world. By embracing the parts of yourself you’ve struggled with, you can release the burden of shame and the belief that you’re disconnected from others, enabling yourself to be the person you want to be and feel less alone in the world.
Life’s challenges can often obscure our path, making it difficult to see the wood for the trees. You are not alone. There is someone who can be with you in your pain.
Reviews
Sarah is very patient, understanding and attentive. She has helped and supported me through some very difficult life experiences and emotions.
Sarah is kind, compassionate and open to discuss any and all topics you feel you’re ready to. She’s LGBTQ+ friendly and extremely non judgemental. For me personally she’s been a breath of fresh air in the counselling sphere and I’d recommend her in the highest esteem to anyone considering counselling, both for the first time or someone with previous counselling experience.
Sarah has a warmth and calmness about her that instantly made me feel at ease. She is able to pick up on feelings that are just on the periphery of my awareness and helps me to explore these. I feel heard and safe to explore really difficult thoughts and emotions. She gives me space to sit with these without judgement but also helps me to challenge negative thoughts, gently challenging me and encouraging me to look at things differently. I always look forward to our sessions each week. I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone seeking help.
When I’ve felt like I have no one to talk to and no one to listen to me, Sarah has been a real constant in my life and I’m so grateful for that.
Sarah helped me find my feet again after a drug relapse, she is very attentive and easy to talk to, she changed my outlook on therapy and provided a compassionate listening ear through a difficult time.
